What is the minimum order?

Our minimum order is just 12 picnic blankets — one small run for a shop or a single event is a normal order — with volume tiers for retail lines, gifting and giveaways.

How fast will my picnic blankets arrive?

What is the difference between waterproof and water-resistant?

On damp grass, roughly twenty minutes. A bonded PU or TPU laminate does not pass ground water at all. A thin PEVA or PVC sheet, or a coated woven back, wets through fairly quickly and then holds the water against whoever is sitting on it. Both are photographed on the same dry lawn, which is why the backing has to be named rather than described.

Does it matter how the backing is attached?

More than the film itself. A backing laminated to the face behaves as one fabric. A backing sewn on only around the perimeter separates in use, water travels between the two layers and the blanket bags out. Pinch the middle of a sample: if the layers slide independently, it is not a laminate.

Why has our blanket started leaking across the middle?

The backing has cracked along a fold. A picnic blanket is creased in the same places every time it is put away, and a cheap film work-hardens and splits there — fastest in cold weather and when it is stored folded tight. Roll it instead of folding it, and specify a backing chosen for flex as well as for water.

Can we wash it?

Not like a blanket. Hot washing and tumble drying are the two things that delaminate a laminate, so a bonded blanket is wiped or cold-washed and dried flat. Unbacked woven cotton rugs wash normally. We sew the care instruction into every blanket rather than leaving it to be guessed.

Why does sand stay in our beach blankets?

The face is brushed or looped, so sand beds into the pile and does not come out. A tight, low-pile, smooth face releases dry sand with one shake. It is a yarn and finish decision made before anything is bonded, it costs nothing extra, and almost nobody quotes it.

Do you make fleece throws or indoor blankets?

No. Fleece throws, sherpa blankets, woven jacquard throws and indoor blankets are different products with different construction, and there are suppliers who do nothing else. Everything we make is a ground blanket, defined by what is on its underside.
